Digital X-ray is a form of electromagnetic radiation, just like visible light. The x-ray machine sends individual x-ray particles, called photons. These particles pass through the body and a computer or special film is used to record the images that are created.

We have installed the GE 300 MA x-ray machine at our centre for the best x-ray quality. Centre has also installed the most advanced CR system from Fuji, Japan. The x-ray images with CR system are always very sharp and clear.

The images are post-processed to suit the individual examination. Our equipment provides for all types of x-rays including special examinations such as Intravenous Urography (IVU), Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) etc.

The digital x-ray not only helps the doctor by providing superior image quality but also ensures the patient receives minimum radiation dose.

Prepare for X-ray

Plain X-rays of the chest, arms and legs require no preparation and generally take only a few minutes to complete. However, jewelry and any other clothing that would interfere with the X-rays will have to be removed for better imaging of the area of interest. X-rays of the abdomen and spine may require you to be empty stomach, although with the advent of better machines and processing, it is not mandatory.

You will have to hold your breath for a few seconds for X-rays of the chest and abdomen area but this is not necessary for X-rays of the arms, legs and head. X-ray exposure does not cause any discomfort to the patient.
